I am as tied as tongues in your presence
As you raise your head like the wild moon,
Eyes flashing like peacocks, bright as apples.
I have given you all I can offer
Milk, honey, dew on the grass, wind on the hills
But I am silenced by the magic woven in your hair.
You have planted yourself in every nerve of mine
And now we reap the harvest of love and lust
Tongues wrapped together like silent snakes.

Even absent, you are my guardian angel
My muse of the seven senses
Feeling your sleeping breath on my cheek
Speaking whispers in January’s late dawn
Hearing your distant laughter like summer rain
Tasting you like teardrops in the sunshine
Seeing your nakedness smooth and soft as clouds
Smelling your skin at the spine’s base where blonde down grows
Fear as you cling to me in the night without words
