she looks up at her daddy
as he holds her tiny hand
no words need be spoken
they just seem to understand

they understand the love
that has blossomed as she's grown
it's the purest love alive
the greatest love they've ever known

they don't worry abut tomorrow
or what obstacles lie ahead
instead daddy kisses her goodnight
and tucks her into bed

the pages of life turn
and tomorrow becomes today
june turns to december
and december falls into may

daddy no longer holds her hand
or tucks her into bed
still they just seem to understand
no words need to be said

daddies will always love their little girls
no matter what they do
and no matter where they are
little girls love their daddies too
