The AVN (Adult Video News) Awards, known as the Oscars of Porn, were held in Las Vegas, on Saturday, January 8, 2011, at the Pearl Theatre, inside the Palms Hotel and Casino.

Ed Berris, who has produced and directed all of Sara's films, so far, was cohost of the AVN awards ceremony, along with Crystal Gunns, whose gigantic tits are familiar to just about every straight male porn connoisseur in the world.

Besides the adult categories, they have finally decided to include awards for the younger actors. They've added Teen categories for actors ranging in age from 10 to 17, and Kitty categories for actors who are under 10 years old.

Last year, Sara received her first nomination for Best New Starlet, In the Kitty films genre. That was an unexpected thrill for both of us. Unfortunately, she didn't win. The Woody went to a 9 year old girl by the name of Tawny Mount, who starred in a film called, "Teachers' Pet," where she got all of her holes filled (frequently) by every male teacher in her grade school. This year, one of the films that Sara and I were in, "Pool Party," turned out to be very popular, with sales out grossing all the other films in the Kitty genre by 10 to 1. Sara and I were thrilled that she was nominated again, this time for Best Female Performer of the Year, Kitty films, video. Plus, our film got the nod for Best Video Feature, Kitty films, video. But, the shocker was that I was nominated for Best Male Performer ! I did voice over narration for much of the film, and I acted in quite a few of the scenes, but still, I couldn't believe it. You bet I was proud.

What to wear ? For men, it pretty much doesn't matter. It can be, literally, anything from jeans and a tee shirt (which I thought was highly inappropriate for the occasion), to a tuxedo. The women, on the other hand, pulled out all the stops to look as elegant, classy, and sexy as they possibly could. And, I was determined to have my own little princess stand out from the crowd. Who knew ? We might never get a nomination again.

A friend of a friend gave me the name of a designer who creates all kinds of over-the-top outfits for strippers, porn stars, and more than a few legitimate actresses and other performers. What we settled on was a dress that was semi sheer, glittery silver, had spaghetti straps, and a hem that came down to a point in the front. The sides were completely bare except for a band around the waist. And, the back came down to where it only covered the top half of her ass. Sweet ! Since we were going to be at a public event that was being televised by Showtime, no less, the designer selected a shiny silver thong for Sara to wear underneath, plus matching shoes and a small handbag. Sara was going to be the hottest little 8 year old girl, there !

On a side note, Kitty porn producer Ed Berris suggested that I let him make Sara available for "play dates" with the various men who regularly appear in his films. At first, I was hesitant. But, we tried it a few times, and it has worked out great. After what seemed like an eternity, at last they got to the Kitty porn awards. Our host, Ed Berris introduced presenter Rod Derrick, a legendary actor in the Kitty porn business, having performed in over 250 films.

Rod walked to the microphone and said, "It is an honor for me to announce the nominees for Best Female Performer of the year, in the category of Kitty films, video. And, the nominees are:

Sara let out a short scream, and I had tears in my eyes as I watched my baby girl walk up onto the stage to accept her award. Sara's voice was shaking as she said, "I'd like to thank my producer/director Ed Berris for getting me started doing videos. I'd like to thank all the wonderful men who worked with me on our "Pool Party" film. And, I'd like to thank my daddy, Dan Daniels for giving me a lot of training. Thank you all, very much." Everybody in the place cracked up laughing at Sara's remark about me giving her a lot of training. Then, Sara walked off the stage, all smiles, carrying her Woody award, arm in arm, with Rod Derrick.

When it was time for the Best Male Performer of the year award, Ed Berris introduced the next presenter, Amanda Anna Lee, a lovely 10 year old girl who had recently made the leap from Kitty porn to Teen porn films. As I thought about my personal collection of Amanda Anna Lee videos that I had watched countless times, I was amazed at how different she looked: so much more grown up and developing.

Amanda, looked and acted very poised and professional as she said, "It is my honor to announce the Best Male Performer of the Year, in the category of Kitty films, video. And, the nominees are:

When it finally sank in, I stood up and hurried to the stage, where I thanked all the people who had worked with me on "Pool Party," ending with thanking Sara, " the one and only brightest light of my life." I honestly don't remember how I got back stage, then back to my seat in the audience, beside Sara. It was all a blur.

But, then, the icing on the cake was that Ed Berris, our producer/director on "Pool Party," got to accept the Woody for the Best Video Feature of the year, in the Kitty films, video category ! So, Sara and I got to join him on stage as he made his acceptance speech. What a night !

When we arrived home from the awards show, there was a phone message waiting for us from "EROTIKIDS" magazine. I had turned off my phone, in the theater and forgot to turn it back on until we got home. An "EROTIKIDS" reporter sounded frantic for me to call him back ASAP. But, it was late, and I knew that it could wait until the next day. When I called them back, we set up a meeting for that same afternoon, because they were in a hurry to meet their publishing deadline.

At 1:00 PM, a photographer from "EROTIKIDS" showed up with cameras, lighting equipment, and a reporter who was ready to do an extensive interview. While the reporter rattled off dozens of questions, the photographer had Sara strip down completely and lie back on a shag rug, striking the classic submissive pose: on her back, knees bent, legs apart, and her fingers locked behind her head.
