I knew that today the cattle call for plan members would start but I wasn't needed for that. I didn't know a thing about operating uplinks or broadcasting. I didn't really even know who would be called first. I assumed it would be maintenance type people and from what Jonathon had told me it seemed cooks would be at the top of the list also. I wondered how many of the expected would turn up. It seemed uncanny to me already how the team members had survived unscathed by the virus. The top man and many of the planners were no doubt dead; but all the workers seemed untouched. Why was that? What kept them from dying like all the others? What was the deciding factor? Why was I thinking someone or something had decided who would die? It had been a sickness hadn't it? Had it been a sickness? It wasn't like any sickness before. People didn't suffer or debilitate. They just got a little rash on their neck and then died. It was like a switch had been thrown and they were just turned off. If that was it, who decided who lived and who died? Carlisle and Grimes and many others had wanted to decide; but they had died near the first. They had a large group of people that they wanted to keep alive, and that group seemed to have fared well so far. What had gone wrong for Carlisle and Grimes? Wait a second; those thoughts didn't go together. Carlisle and Grimes and the others had planned on releasing a sickness of their own. They hadn't done it though. They were still months away from implementing their plan. They hadn't even started giving the vaccinations that would have saved their personnel. They didn't have anything to do with who lived or died. They were just dead men that were still confusing the issue. Something else had caused all the deaths. Something had practically wiped out the whole world. Nearly five billion people were dead. Seven had said that Carlisle's plan wouldn't have gone off this neatly. It couldn't have. He was just going to release a plague that killed people if they came into contact with it unless they had the vaccine. What had actually occurred had all taken place orders of magnitude more neatly than that. Portions of the population had died according to some criteria they met. One group died in the midst of everyone else without affecting the others. Proximity to the disease had no effect. If you got the sickness it was for some other reason; but how could that work? That appeared to be what happened but if it was the case then it wasn't a sickness at all. If that was really what happened it was mass murder on a global scale. To what purpose? Who gained by all the deaths and what did they gain? So far I had gained. I had benefited in a big way from the plague. I had been rich before it came; but now almost anything I wanted was mine for the taking. I certainly had more women than I could have ever hoped for before. I had more wanting me than I could get time to fuck. That was a problem that I could live with. It was really confusing to me and I wanted to just stop thinking about it but couldn't seem to. I just kept wondering who killed most of the people on earth, how did they kill them and why did they kill them. Not to mention how and why they did it so neatly. Hell the dying people buried the people that had already died. Shelly and Sarah told me that Bill went ahead and dug his own grave after he buried Jackie. It was like he knew somehow that he was going to die soon too. I hadn't really been around anyone that died of the sickness; but Shelly, Susan, Julia, Amber, Gloria, Helen, Brenda and Sarah had been living in the house with Jackie and Bill. They were eating and in some cases sleeping in the same beds with them. Yet Bill and Jackie died and none of the others did. What was the difference? The only noticeable difference was age. Jackie and bill were about fifteen years older than Susan, who was the oldest of the bunch that had lived. Susan was thirty-four. That couldn't be it though because untold millions of people of all ages had died. I hadn't seen any people alive that seemed any older than Susan though. Maybe there were several different criteria that could have marked you for death. There had to be. So for arguments sake everyone over say, thirty-five had died. Who else? All the convicts had died that first night. Not only convicts but also everyone that was incarcerated in any jail had died. Sarah said that even the "guest" they'd had in the basement died that night. Then the next night all crooks on the loose had died. Most of them had anyway. From what I'd heard of Susan and the twins, didn't their prior activities constitute crooks on the loose, un-apprehended criminals? I would have assumed it did. Although they were no longer involved in it. They weren't lawbreakers at the time of the deaths. Not only weren't they actually doing any law breaking; but also, since the trick they weren't even thinking any thoughts of that nature. Hell they were technically doing a kind of unpaid service for the government at the time the deaths started. How could that possibly matter since the whole fucking government had died? Wait that wasn't actually what happened. The leaders of the government had died. Most of the ones just doing their job for the government hadn't died when the leaders did. I'm sure most of them died eventually; but that probably came when random portions of the population started dying in stages. After all the specific groups had died on cue it seemed that the rest of the people were just thinned out at random. The strange thing about that was that the living kept doing their job or picked up other duties. Displaced workers had just naturally gravitated to burying dead bodies. And the machinery of the infrastructure had all been quietly shut down in stages. I remember hearing about them shutting off the nuclear power plants. Ours here hadn't been shutdown though. Maybe it was because they ran on automatic. That didn't make sense though. How could a sickness know that they ran automatically? How in the hell did it know or care about the others that didn't run automatically. Nothing made any sense unless someone or something that was intelligent had engineered the whole plague. There was a thought for you. Something that was intelligent. Next thing you know I'd be outside looking up to try and spot UFOs turning off the power. This was giving me a headache. I felt that I needed to try and figure this out but I could only do a little of this at a time. I was chasing my tail trying to decipher a puzzle that I'm sure I didn't have all the pieces for. Clair came in to my study then and provided an attractive break. She had just eaten and was about to go get dressed for the day. I felt a little thrill at catching her in her good morning uniform. I knew that she wore it for me but it had been a while since I'd seen her in it. I took her in my arms and thought to myself that I had time on my hands. I kissed her deeply and my hands roamed to her lushly rounded bottom and began exploring. Clair was tiny and I was nearly bent double to reach her. I lifted her and she wrapped her legs around my waist to hold on. I moved toward the couch since I hadn't discovered yet if I could let the arms down on the Aerons Chair. Just as I reached the couch I got a message and the beeping started at my desk. I sighed and set Clair down. Brenda wanted me in the control room. I made my apologies to Clair and headed that way. The last summons I'd had was the start of the attack on our Hawkeye. I went down into the guest quarters and through the tunnel to the command center. When I got there Brenda and Jasmine were calmly looking over the various screens and readouts. "What's up Brenda?" I asked. "Seven is at the hotel and she wants you to come in. She said she had some things you need to decide on." Brenda told me. I wondered why she had called me to the command center to tell me this and hadn't just put it in the message she sent. Brenda and Jasmine were being strangely quiet now also. I looked at Jasmine and she couldn't help grinning. "Why you little bitches, you were watching me and Clair weren't you?" I asked and couldn't help sniggering. "Yes. I was afraid you were going to make my relief late showing up." Brenda giggled. "Well I was going to detain her, that's certain." I told her. "Nancy has warned us about letting you get started too early in the morning too." Jasmine put her bit in. "I might have known that I had Nancy to thank for any form of coitus interruptus that came up." I laughed. "Seven actually did want you at the hotel sooner than you were going to make it at your rate." Brenda giggled again. I hated to miss the Clair fuck but I was actually happy that Brenda and Jasmine still felt free to tease me and foil my plans. To me it was a good sign that the indoctrination hadn't caused a big change in them. Jasmine hadn't had the whole treatment; but I was sure that Brenda had received more than she really needed while she was subject to Grimes' tender mercies. I just laughed it off and gave Brenda and Jasmine some good morning attention as they waited for Clair. When Clair arrived I gave her a little more sugar and walked back to the house with Brenda, squeezing and pinching her ass all the way. Brenda went to the cafeteria to eat and I grabbed Nancy who was still in the kitchen. "He sweetie, how about letting me take you to a big fancy hotel for a little bit." I asked her. "I might as well Jack, it's as close as I'm ever going to get to you taking me out somewhere. All you want to do now is eat the breakfast I cook you and then abuse my poor pussy." She teased. "Who said I wasn't going to abuse it at the hotel?" I said. "Nobody. I can be talked out of my panties if you try." She grinned. "You need to put on something better than a damned T-shirt to go in front of your new followers though. Go put on a real shirt at least." She chided me. "Ok. Come on and pick something out for me." We headed for my bedroom and Nancy looked around in my closet a little. She asked if there was any chance I'd wear a suit and I vetoed that at once. She picked out a nice long sleeved dress shirt and a better pair of jeans. I put them on and pulled on a pair of my custom made cowboy boots. One of the regrets of my late arriving riches was that it was too late to buy me a pair of "Charlie Dunn" boots. He died a few years before I hit the big time. I never got to see Bo Jangles dance either, but I did get to see Jerry Jeff Walker sing about it a time or two. That was then and you know the rest... I finished dressing with the big buckled belt with Jack on the back and Nancy and I headed for the airstrip. Gloria was there and had the Sikorsky warmed up and ready. She took us to the hotel and set us down on the heliport. We all took the stairs to my new suite. "Well you low down long dicked bastard. You did all this just so you could have a penthouse to stockpile more pussy. I'm starting to be ashamed that I even know you." Nancy started in right away. "Now Nancy it isn't like that. A dead man set this all up and I'm just trying to take over what's left." I tried to settle her down. "Who do you think you're trying to shit Jack? I know you, remember?" Nancy laughed. "It's the truth. I asked Jonathon if they had a place set up for me here and this is where he brought me." I told her trying to sound innocent. "And I suppose those carpenters over there taking out walls and making room for more beds are all just a coincidence?" Nancy snorted. "As a matter of fact, those plans were already made. I asked if it was going to cut them short of rooms and I was told that it wouldn't." I said. "Rooms hell, it's probably going to cut them short of available pussy knowing you. How many women does Jonathon think he can cram in here for you?" She asked. "I didn't ask." I said defensively. "Looking at the size of the place I guess you didn't have to. For fuck sake, are they going to make the whole floor one big pussy pen for Jack?" Nancy grumbled. "Mostly, I did change the plans a little though. I had them keep a big connecting bedroom next to my bedroom, it should be enough room for all my Austin friends and a couple more." I told her. "Well why didn't you say so in the first place. I don't mind being one of many as long as I can be near the top of the list. I think I'll save you a blowjob for later." She smiled and elbowed me in the ribs. Seven came up and found us. She took us to the broadcast studio. It was set up in a large meeting room on the second floor. I could see that it was the same studio we had seen in the last days of CNN. One of the familiar anchor babes was seated behind a desk and it looked like they were getting ready to start. "I thought it wouldn't air until ten am." I quizzed Seven. "It won't, they're going to tape it to make sure it's right." She explained. We watched and there wasn't much to it. The anchor babe just read off a group number and a location number and said affected personnel should report at once. It seemed anticlimactic to me and I said so. "It is a little mundane. The effect shouldn't be though. We should get about three hundred people in by this afternoon." Seven told me. "What groups are coming first?" I asked. "Service staff for the hotel. Cooks, helpers, servers and cleanup people. Construction and repair people, some of the food and supply salvage crews will be coming too. Don't expect them to look like ordinary workers though. They're all combat trained people also. Their job assignments just happen to be hotel staff and other things. Nearly all the people that come in will be like that. They will be troops first and have other jobs too. That was done on purpose. They were selected for their abilities and then secondarily trained for other task that had to be covered. That was done in case it ever came to a tooth and nail fight to the finish." Seven told me. I had to admit it was a good idea. I guess if you had the whole world to choose from you could afford to be picky. I laughed to myself again as I thought about Carlisle's last days spitting out hellfire and brimstone over the airways. They got the shot on the first try and later it was broadcast right on time. Then we waited; but not long. The first arrivals started getting to the hotel within the hour. I guessed they were sitting on go waiting for the signal. All but two that we expected had shown up before three pm. Seven assembled them into a large meeting room. Introduced me to them and then did the reference switching and other mental housekeeping things. When she released them she invited them all to come by and meet me. I felt like a goddamned congressman or something; shaking hands and making little "howdy" noises. All for the plan I guess. This got me wondering where the plan led eventually. I hadn't ever really questioned Seven about the particulars. I'd been so busy implementing it that I didn't really know where it was actually leading. I took Seven and Nancy into and empty office to talk. "Seven now that we have the plan in motion what is the plan. Where does it all lead?" I asked. "We have a little problem there Jack." Seven said. "What kind of problem. I thought you knew the whole plan." I said. "Well I know how to implement the things I was told; but the main endgame wasn't revealed to me. The extent of my knowledge is gathering all the pieces, so to speak. I know how to get and keep things in motion to gather all your assets." She told me. "In other words, someone else is coming to give the next set of instructions." I stated. "Yes and no, Jack. Other people are coming to help tie things together and to give you a command structure. After all the assets are here and organized I'm pretty sure the rest is up to you." She said and smiled. "I'm afraid you lost me then Seven. Do you mean that no one has plans for the ultimate use of all these assets, mainly people, that will be gathered?" I guess my surprise showed. "Plans for feeding and maintaining the assets are in place. The people that come in will be housed, fed and put to work establishing systems to continue feeding and supplying us all. There will be plenty of food, supplies and material for us to live indefinitely. Your job will be to supply the mission Jack, our job is to carry it out." She told me. "Carlisle intended to take control of what was left of the United States and I believe he eventually intended to take control of the entire earth. You situation is slightly different than his was. He didn't expect to have as many people left to deal with as you probably have, unindoctrinated people that is. He envisioned a few hundred thousand people left after the plague he intended to release. The best statistics we have, which are admittedly poor, seem to point to millions of people left living. I always thought that Carlisle greatly underestimated what he would be facing as far as survivors. Even I didn't think there would be as many as the last reports indicated though." Seven told me. This seemed to be good news and bad news to me. I would have an army of trained people to direct and I wouldn't be bothered with preconceived notions of what they were to do. On the other hand I didn't have anything telling me what I should do. At least that wasn't a change. I had been winging it since Austin; I was just winging it with a hell of a lot more people now. "When will most of the organization show up?" I asked. "The command staff should start coming in tomorrow. Some of them are very talented military type strategists. You will have some top-notch advisors coming in that area. It is engineered to be a sort of point and shoot operation for you. You point to what territory you want to control and tell them; they then make plans to control that area." She told me. That all sounded fine but I felt sure that it wouldn't be that easy. No matter, I didn't intend to just blindly tell them to take over here or take over there. I intended to take over all right; but I intended to do it slowly. I thought I should start by taking control between Nebraska and Ft Worth and then spread my control to the Gulf of Mexico and probably farther south. We would need to do a lot of recon first; but I assumed that provisions had been made for that. I had a few symbolic things on my mind now though. "Seven can I assume that we now have enough people to put this airport into some semblance of working order?" I asked. "Probably Jack, what did you have in mind?" She wanted to know. "I had in mind larger planes landing. The runways are much longer here and there is a lot more room. I think we should bring most of the aircraft from the house to the airport. I'm sure there are better facilities here for them and they are mostly in the way at the house. We can get them into the air; but it is a big pain for some of them." I said. "There are plans for accumulating aircraft. You have a big jump on some of them. The people for it aren't scheduled to appear for three more days. It will be fine to go ahead and send any extra planes from home here if you want to." She told me. "I also had in mind acquiring a few certain planes, for instance Air Force One and the presidential helicopters." I told her grinning. "Technically Jack, any plane that the President was in was called Air Force One; but I know that isn't what you meant. I believe we can secure the aircraft you have in mind in three or four days. We will need to rename them though. Nancy says they are to be..." "I know what Nancy intends for them to be called and I dare not cross her on that. Let's just get them and worry about their paint scheme later. Don't I recall that they have controls for nuclear weapons launches on them, or am I making that up?" I asked. "They called it the football. It was a suitcase that always accompanied the President everywhere he went. It contained the 'Gold Codes' for launch authority verification and detailed scenarios of what to launch. It didn't contain actual buttons to push. The launches were physically completed elsewhere. For instance, he couldn't push a button in the football and launch a missile from a nuclear submarine. I don't know if any of the weapons are still able to launch or not though." She said. "I'll bet we should find out." I said. "We should be able to start doing that after tomorrow." She assured me. It had now struck me that we might be a little late checking on the possibility of a nuclear attack. Then again those things weren't just set off by lighting a fuse. Just getting them launched was no sign that they would even explode if they did fall back to earth. They had specific mechanisms that had to operate correctly to cause them to explode. They weren't like a bomb or artillery shell that was triggered by impact. Hopefully no one was left that could use them successfully. That didn't mean that people couldn't learn to use them; but it was probably a complicated procedure. It didn't matter. I couldn't do anything about that any more quickly by worrying about it. I would just have to wait until someone showed up that knew about those things. Nancy and I went back up to the heliport then and left for home. It took about thirty minutes and Gloria set us down at the airstrip. We walked back to the house and to the cafeteria for an early supper. I saw George and Mike eating and Nancy and I sat by them. "Any luck with the roundup Mike?" I asked. "A lot. I haven't brought any more cattle here yet; but I've located nearly fifteen thousand head. They are all in good shape and mostly have plenty of hay for the winter already rolled and near them. I checked and the equipment needed to put the hay out for them is basically in good shape. We can just keep checking regularly to make sure they have water and minerals until it comes time to put out the hay and some range cubes during the winter." Mike told me. "What's next then, still looking for more?" I asked. "I'm mostly looking for hogs now. We'll need pork too. I'm also thinking about trying to locate some chicken houses that might still be worth saving. I don't think I'll find any that have been unattended with living stock still in them. I'm hoping to find some that are being tended. If I do I'll try convincing the people to join us. It would take a lot of time and trouble to get a brooder house going and raise chicks, even with the help of Nebraska." He told me. "Didn't you tell me, when we first met, that you knew of a small group that might be doing just that?" I asked. "Yes, and I'm thinking of heading that way tomorrow to see if I can find them." He admitted. "That's good, but don't take any chances. If they aren't friendly or don't want to join us we'll just tough it out and start our own production. Seems to me that processing the chickens after we get them raised might be harder than raising them." I offered. "It will be at first. We don't really have and facilities for it here. We could probably find a plant that we might be able to use over in East Texas though. It will take some work and we'll have to try to learn the ins and outs but it will probably be worth it. Chickens and turkeys can turn feed into a lot more usable meat that cows and hogs can." He told me. "We might have some people coming in that will be able to help us. All but two of the ones we called today showed up. Try to locate the people raising the chickens and check them out. We should know in a couple of days whether we need to learn to process them ourselves." I suggested. "I'm going tomorrow to check it out. I'll let you know what I find." Mike told me. He and George had finished eating by then and they said their goodbyes and left. Amber and Julia brought Nancy and I our supper and we started on it. We finished and Nancy went off looking for Karen. She told me that she just had to tell Karen of my latest transgressions. I walked back to the airstrip, and on the way there I noticed all the parked semi-trailers. Apparently the trips to Ft Hood had continued throughout. There seemed to be over a hundred trailers scattered around. I met Henny at the hangar and asked her how things were shaping up. She told me that we would soon be out of room for anything. "That's alright Henny, I've bought you a new place." I told her teasing. "Where?" She asked. "Do you think you can find more space at DFW airport?" I asked. "I hope to shout. You didn't." "I did. We have a hotel or two for accommodations and the run of the place. Seven says we'll have power everywhere we need it. What do you think, want to run an airport?" I asked. "Not unless I have to. Do you have anyone else that can handle it?" She asked plaintively. "I probably will soon, do you want a vacation, want to just hang out, or what?" I quizzed her. "I'm kinda partial to this little spot here Jack. Are you going to keep something going on here?" Henny wanted to know. "I'm sure we are, do you want to stay here and keep this place going? We'll have to keep a few birds here to watch over us." I told her. "That's what I'd like if I can get it." She smiled. "I think I might like keeping you closer myself." I told her fondling her ass while I was at it. "You might talk me out of a blow job if you can swing it." She grinned. "Done. I'll be calling in my marker soon." I told her, giving her a sound kissing. I headed back to the house and into my study. Johnny came in and he couldn't even pretend to take the smile off his face. He told me to expect Jamie, Donna and Cherry to be trailing me tonight. They'd had enough waiting. It sure as hell wouldn't hurt my feelings. I asked how his Mom was. "Well fucked. She seems happy about it too. Sometimes she can't even fake her protest." He laughed. "Have you had to spank her yet?" I asked. "Do what?" Johnny was all ears now. "Sometimes when Nancy misbehaves I have to make her put on some panties so I can take them off her right before I spank her. Next time your Mom starts her whining, why don't you make her put on a T-shirt and a pair of panties and then bend her over your knee and give her a little light ass whiping. She'll know what's up as soon as you send her for a T-shirt and the panties. It will heat her up a lot." I suggested. "I don't know if I can take her any hotter than she's been already." He said. "Sure you can Johnny. Just don't spank her too hard. It's mostly just for effect anyway. Try it, you'll like it and I know she will." I told him. "I think I will." Johnny said. He wanted to talk to me about the cattle then. He had been doing his homework on them. He said he wanted to slaughter a few head. Susan had told him that they needed some more meat and he'd told her he'd see to it. He just wanted to make sure it was all right with me. I told him that he was the cattle baron around here and that I didn't really know shit about them. I suggested he talk to Mike if he had any doubts. He told me he had already talked to Mike and that Mike had agreed. He also wanted to know if Gloria could help them for a few days. She had been trained for it and he thought they needed her help. I told him to ask her if she would. If it was ok with her I'd make it ok with everyone else. He left to find her then. It seemed to be my day to hang around and talk to people so I headed into the other study to see what Frank and Bob had going on. Frank was tinkering with his cluster. He had about half of the machines assembled and as he got one together he found it a place in the giant shelves that he'd talked Mike, George and John into building for him. "How're things going Frank?" I asked as I approached him. "Pretty good, I'm about halfway through assembling these things. This may not be as much fun as I'd thought. It's getting pretty repetitive now." He told me. "Have you figured out what you're going to put it doing when you get finished?" "Not a clue. Something will come up though, surely." He grinned. "Everything else going according to your wishes?" I asked. "Everything but fueling the generators and George said he thought he could figure some way to make the trailer add a few hundred gallons every three or four days. We're a little unsure about doing it though. If it malfunctioned and overfilled the tanks there would be a big chance for a fire." "That would be a bummer. It could probably happen pretty easily with no one even going to check on it. How hard would it be to just move all the machines somewhere else, say over toward DFW?" I asked. "It would be a bitch. It would probably take months to get it all sorted back out." He told me. "Well we'll have some more construction and maintenance people coming in a few days. If nothing else I can get someone to check it every day or two from the airport. They won't have nearly as far to travel." I told Frank. "That would be a blessing. We have it all sorted and indexed now and we have a good search engine operating on it. All we need now is more data to save." Frank told me. "Speaking of search engines, I hope you can do case sensitive searches with the one you implemented." I said. "We didn't bother with that, is it important to you?" Frank wanted to know. "It is. Do you understand the difference between mf, Mf, and mF?" I asked writing them on a scrap of paper. "I see what you mean. I guess you'll be wanting me to try and dig up Google's archive of newsgroup post also then." Frank laughed. "I had assumed you would realize the importance of that on your own." I told him trying to sound serious. "It's on my to-do list all right. Should I move it more closely to the top?" He wanted to know. "As long as you get to it before they are lost it will be fine. Now what were you saying about other data?" I asked. "I said all we need now is more data to save." He repeated. "If we took you to another city how could we transfer the data?" I asked Frank. "If we really had a chance to get other data we could probably do it easiest with some sort of satellite link. Of course we would have to get an uplink and downlink going. I'm sure the satellites are still working, we would just have to see if we could figure out how to use them." Frank said. "Would you have the space to store the data?" I asked. "To a certain extent we could delete commercial web content that is in the center. If we were able to get massive quantities of data we would need to do something else. There is plenty of room there for additional servers. We would just have to get them or build them." He said. "Couldn't we just raid other data centers in the metroplex. I'm sure they're several. Integrating them into the existing structure wouldn't be nearly as hard as reassembling a complete system would it?" I asked. "You're right. We could put them on the network, consolidate their data, and then utilize their free space. Many of the servers will just be copies, for use in balancing the load of millions of accesses. We won't have that problem again for many years. I'm sure that would be workable. Do you think our building is secure enough?" Frank asked. "I'm sure we can find a way to make it secure enough. I'm going to get Seven to check with the planners that will be coming in tomorrow and the next day and line us up some people to help us out." I told him. I was glad that I'd had time to talk with Frank. In the back of my mind I had been dreading the loss of mankind's accumulated knowledge. I knew that all knowledge wasn't online; but I thought that a hell of a lot of it was and I wanted to save all that I could. When we were sure we had a large portion of what was available in the United States preserved we could start scanning in books that weren't already online. We probably weren't going to have much trouble with copyright holders anymore. In fact, we could now also rip and save any audio we wanted to make available. The record companies weren't going to be complaining any longer. As I was returning to my study I met Seven coming in the front door. I asked how things were proceeding and we went over a few things. I remembered Frank since he was fresh on my mind and I ask her to see to the refueling of the data center's generators. "Why are we fueling the auxiliary generators? The data center has a line from the nukes that power the airport." Seven told me. "Well then we need to turn it on. We've been running it on auxiliary power since the normal power went out." I told her. "I should have asked about it. It was set to switch automatically when the generators ran out of fuel. All of our data is in that center. If you hadn't been refueling the generators it would have switched over on its own." She laughed. "We'd better get someone to go make sure it switches over properly then. On another front, I've been talking to Frank and I want to start thinking about transferring data from other locations in the US to that center. He says that we can salvage equipment from other centers nearby and move it there. He thinks the building has adequate space and wiring for many times the servers that it contains now. Do you think we can give it adequate protection?" I asked. "That won't be a problem. It was our building all along. Since everything was already working when I got here I just didn't check it out. All the windows and entrances have metal coverings that should be shut to keep wanderers out. There are assets for its protection stored at the airport. If Frank knows what he wants to put there we can detail people to him to make sure he can go take what he wants." She said. "Last but not least, he says he can transfer data from other cities if he can get some satellites links working. Will we have anyone that can help with that?" I wanted to know. "We should have. They won't be showing up for about a week or so if I remember right. They are supposed to be able to get the satellite based cell phones working also." She told me. "Can we move their call-up forward?" I asked. "That will be easy after tomorrow, when the advanced organizational team shows up." She said. "That would be great. After they get the phones working I'd be able to call somebody and try to get a date." I teased her. "Speaking of dates. Both of the anchor babes approached me today. They are close to needing a little maintenance and they're both private stuff. Can you handle it?" She was nearly laughing when she finished. "Ah, duty calls. I'll do my best." I smiled. Things seemed to be going too well. Every little problem that cropped up disappeared in a matter of minutes. It made me a little apprehensive. The shit usually hit the fan soon after I got to feeling that everything was going smoothly. I heard a little tone that sounded like a doorbell chime. I hadn't noticed hearing it before. It didn't make an urgent noise but it was noticeable. Seven had walked off but came back to me. "What was that tone?" I asked her. "It means that someone unexpected is at the gate. Let's check the monitor in your study." She suggested. We went into the study and walked to the monitor's cabinet. Seven clicked the controls and soon we had video from the driveway's gate camera. There were two large RVs seemingly waiting for it to open. Seven pressed another button and a different chime sounded. She told me that it was for the gate duty team, four troops, to go to the gate and check it out. They would report when they got there she told me. We waited. Soon we could see the dualie that the troops had taken approach the gate from our side. They stopped and one got out and walked to a woman that was standing at the gate. After a couple of minutes he walked to an intercom phone that was inside a little call box on the back of the brick gate post. He called us. "Yes." Seven said as she lifted a phone by the monitor. "I see. Wait and I'll check." She told him. "They are survivors and they want to join us. They must have seen Mike out checking for cattle and worked their way here. They say that they will be glad to work for food and protection." Seven told me. "Do we have room for them here or should we send them to the hotel?" I asked her. "That depends Long Dick, on where you think you'll be needing to keep a stash of fresh pussy." Seven told me in her, new to me, Nancy imitation voice. "What are you talking about Seven?" I asked her laughing. "They're all women, twenty-four of them. Judging from the looks of the one that came to the gate I'm betting they qualify as private pussy?" She teased me in the Nancy voice again. "But what about the room. Is there room for them here?" I asked. "Plenty. We are down to only twenty-four security team members here now. I sent the rest to the hotel. Remember though, you're going to have room for at least forty eight women on the top floor of the hotel even before the maintenance men rearrange the partitions. That's without changing the beds out for the big ones." She laughed again. "I was expecting some more of my dedicated private pussy to come in with the cattle calls though." I told her trying to look serious. "Not to worry Long Dick. They are already scheduled to take up the entire floor below you." She laughed even louder this time." "Jesus, I'm going to be not only the Father of our new order, I'm going to end up the daddy to most of the population if you and Nancy have your way." I said. "What's wrong with that Jack. At least we could count on some big dicked young boys in twelve or thirteen years." Seven said. "I can tell you've been spending way too much time with Nancy. Tell the guards to send them up and then usher them into the study with us. I might as well look them over." I told her trying to put on a lecherous grin. She did and soon we saw the dualie leading the two RVs up the driveway. Ten minutes later twenty-four beautiful young women came into the study. They all were wearing T-shirts and cutoffs. They were really cut off short too. Forty-eight beautiful legs came walking in carrying forty-eight bouncing braless titties. "Hello ladies. My name is Jack and I'm the leader of this group. I'm glad to welcome you here to join us." I told them. "We're very glad to find somebody that can help us. We were all at SMU when the sickness started and we stayed too long. Most of us lived in the Dallas/FT Worth area. We have been staying in some houses we found about twenty miles away. We noticed the helicopters coming and going from here and we thought this was a government base or something. That's why we came here." A spokeswoman, Kimberly, told me. "We aren't a government operation. As far as I know there is no government left. We are banded together to provide for and protect ourselves. We have plenty of food and plenty of protection. You are welcome here and if you join us you will be protected. Nothing is required of you if you stay. If you want to help we will try to find something for you to do. It isn't required though. If you'd like you may hang around looking pretty. You are certainly qualified. No offense meant if any of you are feminist." I added. "Hello, we're from SMU. We were all sorority sisters in DDD. No feminist allowed." Kimberly told me smiling. "Please know that no woman is required to pay her way with sex here. We had an unfortunate incident once and we simply don't tolerate men who try things like that. If anyone tells you anything of the sort please report it at once." I told them. They looked at me a little unbelievingly. I hoped I wasn't going to be required to explain further. Seven made sure of that. "If any of you decide you would like a little fun in your life Jack will be glad to be of service though. The pay, is what I can guarantee, will be the fuck of your lifetime and the biggest diamond ring you ever saw until you came here." Seven told them and they all howled. "Damn Seven, that's no way to start out." I said trying unsuccessfully to control my blushing. Seven just laughed and proudly waved her ring around in their faces. This caused them to crowd around her for a closer look at her rock, and it made Seven continue. At least she didn't imitate Nancy's voice while she did it. "Once you get the ring don't let him catch you with any panties on, unless he sends you after a pair for him to take off you before your spanking. Oh, and the breakfast uniform is a long T-shirt only. In case he wants to give you a quick inspection." She said it so that they would laugh again and they did, loudly. "As far as sleeping arrangements go, we just happen to have enough beds left in Jack's ladies dorm for all of you. We're a real close-knit bunch. It will probably take a while for him to get around to you though." Seven told them. I couldn't do anything but stand there and take it. I thought about it and decided I was being a crybaby. If Seven wanted to line me up some fresh young pussy what was I complaining about. If they could wait I would love to have more new girls. I thought of something I wanted to ask them and I did. I wanted to know if they knew of any other groups around near here. "We sure do. There is a group of about ten men fifteen or so miles to the west of here right off I-20. They captured six of our friends just yesterday as we were leaving. That's why we were so glad to find you." Kimberly said. Son of a bitch, I knew things were going too well. Now it looked like we had another rescue mission to plan. Seven gave me a look as I asked the girls to tell me more. They had six friends that were in a smaller van, who had been later leaving the houses they'd been living in. When they didn't come up behind them one of the RV's started call for them on the CB Radio which they were using in the van and the two RVs. A man's voice had told them to turn around and come back, saying that their friends had joined his group. They didn't turn around and in fact sped up considerably. They had already known about the group and it was one of the reasons they were leaving. They were upset about their friends but knew that they couldn't help them. Seven and I got the details of how to find the group. Kimberly said she thought there were about ten men in it and many more women. She didn't know any details of how they ran their group though. She did tell us that they had two 'army tanks' as she called them. We thanked the girls and I promised them that I would do my best to gain the release of their friends. Kimberly gushed thanking me and I told her that it was one of my specialties. Seven called Julia and Amber, asking them if they would help the girls get moved in. When they were gone Seven and I went to the command center. Clair, Brenda, Genine and Jasmine were there. We told them of the development and we discussed it. I wanted to approach the group peacefully and ask them all to join us. The others agreed with this but they all wanted someone else to approach the group. I ask Seven if anyone trained in negotiation had been called up. She said that we did have a few trained negotiators coming but that they were a few days away from reporting. I told them that I was going to do it then. Seven argued that she could do it and claimed that it would be less risky. I told her that I would rather get hurt or killed doing this than try to keep on if she were gone. This started a round of gnashing of teeth for all of us and in the end I had to just put my foot down and tell them that I was going. We discussed the best way to approach them then. Jasmine said that she felt we should find and recon them first with a Comanche. They were the army's latest helicopter, and were designed especially for recon and low observability. They weren't even actually in service by the time the plague hit. We had been lucky to find the first units the army received at Ft Hood. Jasmine said that they had a lower radar signature than a hellfire missile and that the engine heat was dispersed so well that a heat seeking missile couldn't even lock on to them. She also pointed out that the airframe had been specifically designed to make it resilient to ballistic damage. I didn't think we had to worry about radar tracking; but I did understand the advantage of the heat signature. If this group had gathered a couple of tanks, they might have also acquired some man launched stingers. If the stingers couldn't lock on to us, with the Comanche's ballistic armor we would be relatively safe from ground fire. The Comanche also had a very low noise signature for a helicopter. The five main rotor blades and the ducted tail rotor combined to make them sound nothing like a normal helicopter. This sounded like a good approach to me. We could get fairly close and look them over without being noticed. Then if we did approach them we should be safe enough unless they had very sophisticated defenses. I decided to risk it. Brenda said that she would feel much better about the whole thing if she served as my pilot. I admitted that I would feel better with here also. We headed for the airstrip. Henny pointed us to a ready Comanche and we went to it. I had seen them before but this one looked different and I asked Brenda about it. "There aren't any ferry tanks on it and all the arms are stowed. That's one of the ways these helicopters can achieve their low radar signature. Nothing sticks out. We will probably want to go ahead and deploy the gun when we get up, but we will only be carrying the internal missiles, two air-to-air stingers and four hellfires." Brenda told me. When we got in Brenda noticed that I was pretty casual about tightening my restraints. She had me tighten them properly. "Jack, you need to be strapped in securely. We are going to be in unknown territory and if I have to maneuver severely to avoid something I don't want you hurt as you flop around like a loose beach ball." She told me. I complied and we lifted off. It took only fifteen minutes to find the group. They did have two tanks and they were M1-A1 Abrams. The Comanche's radar found them and we could see their location plainly in the helmet's heads up display. We stayed a good distance off from them circling and looking. We saw that there were two men, ostensibly on guard, patrolling in a lackadaisical manner. I asked Brenda to approach closer and soon one of the men spotted us. He went into a small building and came out with something on his shoulder. We continued to approach but to us we weren't in a threatening mode. We came in slowly and we even still had the gun stowed, so no armaments were showing on the Comanche. This must not have registered with the guards. Both of them were together now and looking directly at us as we approached. The one with the weapon on his shoulder, Brenda thought it was a stinger, seemed to peer more closely into its sight. "He's going to launch it Jack, I guess we'll get to see if this Comanche is all it's cracked up to be." Brenda said. We had stopped approaching and the guard didn't fire right away. I asked Brenda to back us off a little to see if that would help. She did and it did. We backed off about two thousand yards and he took the launcher off his shoulder. We hovered. I didn't know what our next move should be. I wanted to talk to these men and wondered why they didn't want to at least talk. It put an ominous tone on things to me. I asked Brenda to move us closer again and see what happened. She took us up for a little more altitude; we were probably at about fifteen hundred feet when she started toward them slowly. When he noticed that we were approaching again he put the launcher to his shoulder and peered into the sight again. Brenda held us still and we discussed it. "I just don't understand why he is threatening an apparently unarmed helicopter." I said. "Maybe he is familiar with them and knows that they can have stowed arms." She told me. "Maybe, but this is a big pain in the ass. I need to talk to them." I said. "Maybe he is just a bully and wants to shoot at someone." Brenda offered. "If that's the case I hope he isn't their leader. That would make things really difficult." I said. "If he's going to fire I wonder why he hasn't, I'm not complaining but it does seem that he would have already if he is going to." Brenda offered. "Maybe he just wants to warn us off." "Maybe, or maybe that's an older missile with only heat seeking guidance and he can't get a lock tone from it." Brenda said. "What are the chances of it hitting us if he fires it, and if it does hit us what shape will we bee in?" I asked. "I doubt he can hit us, I'm not sure he can't though. If it does hit us I wouldn't give shit for our chances. What do you want to do?" Brenda asked. "Call jasmine and ask her how many Cobra's she can send to give us a little support. If there are more of us at least he will have to worry about more targets." I told Brenda grimly. She talked to Jasmine and soon six Cobras and six Apaches were headed our way. They were not nearly as quiet as we'd been. I could talk to them on the radio and I told them to spread out and approach in a diminishing circle, similarly to the approach we'd used in Waco for the bunker. Brenda kept all her attention on the man with the launcher. It's a damned good thing she did. When the noise of the other approaching helicopters became apparent, his partner started a heated discussion with him. They argued for a minute or two and then he put his eye back to the sight and fired. It was very thoughtful of Brenda to make sure that I was strapped in tightly. When she saw the missile fire we shot straight up for about half a second and then we seemed to turn completely over and then fall back off to the left, as if we weren't flying at all. I braced myself for an explosion and tried my best not to puke. It was over in just a few seconds. Brenda said the stinger was streaking happily away from us and hadn't even come close. The guard dropped the launcher and headed back to the small building. "Put something in that building before he gets another one Brenda. I hope no one is in there." I told her. I had about half a second to look around the place and I noticed a couple of men coming out of one of the houses that were near here. Then I heard and saw the hellfire missile leave its firing rail that had appeared out of the fuselage. It made an impressive noise and left a bright smoky trail behind it. I also felt and saw the turret gun deploy, and it was now pointing menacingly toward the people on the ground. The hellfire made a hell of an explosion when it hit the little building. It converted the entire thing into a fireball at once and a loud fireball at that. All the people that were outside except the guard that had fired on us hit the dirt on their faces. The guard was too close to the building for that. He hit the ground on his back about thirty feet away from where he'd been. He wasn't moving but he did seem to be smoking a little. The other helicopters had seen the stinger and then the hellfire and its explosion. They had dispensed with the slow approach at that time and were now surrounding the area. I saw one of the men on the ground look up and look around, and then he stood up and pulled off his T-shirt to wave it in the air. I had Brenda stow the gun again as a gesture and I told her to set us down about three hundred yards from them. I'd brought a white flag with me hoping to use it. I stepped out of the Comanche and told Brenda to get back up. I was unarmed. I stood waiting for the flag waver to approach. He came up to me shortly. "My name is Jack." I told him extending my hand to shake. "I'm Billy." He said, shaking my hand. "We came here hoping to talk peacefully." I told him. "Putting a rocket into our shed doesn't seem very peaceful." He said. "We fired on the shed because the guard had just fired a stinger at us and seemed to be heading for another one." I told him. "Did you need all these helicopters to talk peacefully?" He asked me. "We came alone at first, we only called for support when the guard began waving the first launcher at us. He fired the stinger when he heard the other helicopters coming I think." I told Billy. "Why in the hell didn't he call someone else when you came up. He wasn't supposed to use the stingers unless we were being attacked. Did you approach him in a threatening manner?" Billy asked me. "We came in that Comanche with the gun and rockets stowed. We had no arms showing and when he first brought out the stinger we backed away, ask his partner for confirmation." I told him. He said he would and left to do so. When he returned I asked if anyone was injured. He said that Trey, the one that had fired on us, seemed to be hurt badly. I asked if they had a doctor and he admitted that they didn't. I offered to take Trey to our place for treatment and he agreed, saying that he would probably die if he weren't tended to. I waved Brenda back down. When she landed I asked her to call for Karen to come in a Huey to treat the wounded man. She got back up telling me she would. I guess Karen, Beverly and Jana had been made ready already because they arrived in about ten minutes. The Huey landed not far from the injured man. They had him strapped to a stretcher with an IV in his arm in just a couple of minutes. Three minutes later he was in the Huey and it lifted off. I turned back to Billy. "We wanted to talk to you about six young women that you took in. We also want to ask you to join our group." I told him. "The women joined us." He told me. "Twenty-four of their companions don't feel that way. I would like to talk with them, just to make sure." I told him. "What if they don't want to talk to you?" He said in a decidedly obnoxious tone. "If you want to keep those tanks another thirty minutes of so, I suggest you convince them to take the time." I told him and waved my arm in a semicircle toward the hovering helicopters. "I see your point." He said walking back toward the house he had left. He returned with six women shortly. They were dressed in jeans and camo fatigue jackets. They seemed older than the girls that had joined us today. "What sorority were you in?" I asked the first one that reached me. She couldn't even give a guess. I turned to Billy. "I'm trying to be patient Billy, but it's wearing thin. Send me the six girls or I'll be taking everyone that lives over this back with me in about an hour. I'm through fucking with you." I told him. Billy and the women started back toward the house. I stopped them and told the women to remain until Billy came back with the others. He didn't argue. When he was gone I asked the women if they were being held against their will. They seemed frightened but they all said that they weren't being held captive. Billy came back with six much younger girls this time. They were dressed in T-shirts and cutoffs like the others had been. They answered right away that they had been Tri Delts. I signaled Brenda to set down again. When she did I told her to get another Huey over here to retrieve the girls. I also told her to make sure that Billy did not return to the house unless I signaled her that it was all right. She said she'd take care of it. She also said she was going to make sure I brought a walkie-talkie along from now on. I laughed and backed away as she lifted off. The same Huey came back and set down near us this time. I told all the women to get in it. Billy was pissed and gave me a minor cursing. I said I'd send the women back tomorrow if they wanted to come back and I told him that we really would like for his group to join us. He headed back for the house and got a warning burst from Brenda's 20mm for his trouble. I recommended that he stay with me for a few more minutes. He didn't like it but there wasn't anything he could do about it. After the Huey lifted off with the twelve women Brenda set down and retrieved me. We all headed home without further incident. By the time I got home all the sorority sisters had been reunited, from what Seven told me it was amid much squealing and crying. Nancy and Kelly were showing the other women around the place. I told Seven that I wanted to speak to them one at a time after supper. She agreed and she headed to find them. I'd already eaten supper earlier but I went to see if Susan and the twins could find me a little something else to chew on. I intended to return the six women tomorrow if they wanted to go back. I wasn't going to tell them that they would soon be back anyway. Billy seemed smarter than the other small group leaders that I'd encountered so far. To me that just meant that I couldn't let him run around loose. He would have to end up tricked or dead. I just hoped we didn't have to deal with a firefight first. I wasn't worried about the tanks. We could probably take them out from here with the crusaders if it came down to it. If not we could surely do away with them with hellfire missiles and probably wouldn't even have to get within visual range of Billy's group to do it. Recruiting the people would be harder though. If they were really resistant we would probably have to use ground forces to do it. That always meant a bigger chance of wounded or dead on both sides. If they were hard headed I was going to wait until I had some more troops reporting. ---------------------------- To be continued copyright cmsix@cmsix.com comments to cmsix@cmsix.com are desired and will be appreciated ----- ASSM Moderation System Notice------ This post has been reformatted by ASSTR's Smart Text Enhancement Processor (STEP) system due to inadequate formatting. ----- ASSM Moderation System Notice------ <1st attachment end> ----- ASSM Moderation System Notice------ Notice: This post has been modified from its original format.
