Hammon Wry's Words of the Day for Friday January 10, 2003

Note: Due to copyright laws, I am hesitant to include the definitions
and pronunciations of the words of the day.  I have provided the
websites for each so that you can look up the words for yourself.  

This is an exercise in writing discipline.  I am trying to get into
the habit of writing something every day.  I figure if I use the words
of the day from two sources in a sexual context, I will have
inspiration and motivation.

" ...'and last night there was such a chorus of sternutation in the
dormitory, I could not sleep.'  Miss Anna looked haggard, dark circles
under her blue eyes giving credence to her fatigue.  'I can't
understand it, no sniffling in class today, they didn't sneeze at all,
either.  They seemed all in perfect health!'

Madam Inglenook suddenly took interest.  'Sneezing, you say?  Oh,
dear, this is not a good sign.  Tell me, has Cook complained of an
increase in the use of powdered black pepper?'

Miss Anna bit her lip, a habit Madam Inglenook found oddly endearing.
'Why, yes, she has, this morning.  Why...oh!'  She blushed as she
realized the implication.  'They have been stealing it, haven't they?
Those naughty young ladies!'  

Madam Inglenook nodded solemnly.  'Yes, they use it to produce
sneezing fits, much like snuff.  It produces a mild euphoria, and also
mimics...sexual release.'  It was the older woman's turn to blush.
'Something we at Madam Inglenook's Finishing School for Young Ladies
cannot condone.'  She stood and sighed.  'When I think of the lucre
lost on powdered pepper,  I despair.'

'What shall we do, Madam Inglenook?'

'We shall have to fill the pepper cellars with coarse ground pepper
for the remainder of the year.  By then, our oldest young ladies will
have graduated.' "

(One of the reasons for the popularity of snuff usage among woman was
that it induced sneezing, which in some caused vaginal muscles to
contract.  It was like having a mini-orgasm on command.  And yes, the
use of finely ground pepper was common for the same purpose if snuff
was not available.)
