"...the critical exegesis of the text did not include the more ribald
aspects of the subject matter. In point of fact, it was a series of
puns on the activities of students on holiday, a melange of trite and
rude innuendo and salacious story telling. For example, the line
that is translated 'And we put our books away and went in pursuit of
lighter pastimes' could more rightly be translated ' We laid our books
down (in the sexual sense, indicating a violent intent, i.e. 'Fuck
studying!'), and went looking for light (as in lightskirts, or
prostitutes) activity.' In short, they gave up studying to go get
laid."
I blinked. "You mean to say that this story is about college boys on
Spring Break in Florida?"
She grinned, and nodded. "The ancient Roman equivalent, yes!"
