when its icy fingers have never caressed your skin.

the florid flush afraid to creep up your neck.

when the green-eyed dragon never blackened your doorstep.
You talk of birth
you who shrivel at the sight of children.
You speak of joy
when its rapture has never wrapped you in an electrifying cocoon.
What do you know of fear,
the hammer of your heartbeat foreign and inconceivable.
What do you know of lust,
when you've never trembled at a lover's touch.
Hate is your mistress,
a cunning bedfellow, full of vermilion and conceit,
blissful ignorance seeping through your pores.
