Their desperation leads them to a beach house; a beach house where, of all people, Scott is staying with some of his friends. I am speaking of course of the Scott whom Ronni has been known to secretly pine for, on occasion. COMMENTARY: This story is not perfect, but I enjoyed it quite a bit. The thing that impresses me the most is the author's ability to convey how her narrator/heroine is feeling without being too explicit. She focuses on the sensations and doesn't try to rationalize or explain them. There are other things that I like about this story, for instance, during the course of the story Ronni lets herself be used, both by her friend Tammy and by Scott. What I like about these scenes is that while she is giving into the whims of others she still comes across as an individual who is both thrilled and scandalized by what she is putting up with. This makes her more realistic, in my opinion; probably because she is experiencing conflicting emotions. On the whole I like this story, but the ending leaves a little something to be desired. It isn't the content that I have a problem with, but rather the execution. It does not flow quite as smoothly as the first two-thirds of the story do; it seems a bit forced. Still, it was not enough to diminish my enjoyment by any appreciable measure. As it turns out, the feeling is mutual. COMMENTARY: This story sizzles, or at least it did for me. The author does a number of things that I believe contribute to making it well above average. In particular, the plotting and the pacing are very well handled. The story isn't rushed nor is it too drawn out. The author drops little hints of possibilities of things to come in such a manner that when I read it I found myself quite aroused. I like Christie and Melissa. Even though they are aroused by one another, they hold back on revealing their feelings for fear of what the other might think. The mounting tension between them is quite delicious. If you don't care for stories of lesbian lust then you may want to skip this one, but otherwise I cannot find anything objectionable in this story. I highly recommend giving it a try. COMMENTARY: There isn't a whole lot more to the plot, otherwise the summary I wrote would have been longer. For the most part the story consists of Jack and Jenny becoming more and more comfortable with one another until eventually, well, I'm sure you can do the math. What I like about this story is the patience that the author shows. He does not have his characters leap into bed with one another at the first opportunity. Instead he draws out the sexual tension between them. On the down side, I did find the story to be a bit lacking. For starters, the title is somewhat misleading. Maybe the author came up with the title first and then tried writing the story. Suffice it to say that mother doesn't appear in too many scenes in this story. Another thing that bothered me about the story is an episode that occurs towards the end of part one. It seemed very disconnected from the rest of the story. It was relatively short and did not disturb the flow of the plot too much, but it certainly came out of nowhere. Finally, I would prefer to have see a little more focus on character development and a little less focus on the action. [Please note that "I" is the operative word in that last sentence. I just stated my opinion, I did not reveal some hidden truth about this story. We now return you to our regularly scheduled review, already in progress.] In particular Jenny seemed underdeveloped to me. The fact that Jack narrates the story might be partly to blame. In the end, I found this to be a fun read, but can accept that some of you might not, due to the subject matter. COMMENTARY: This story builds up quite nicely. I like both the characters they seem realistic enough. I enjoyed the sex play. The characters came across as active participants in the action and not just actors playing their respective parts. On the down side it is worth noting that this is a *long* first chapter. The author probably should have broken it down into three or four shorter chapters. One last thing, I have to admit that while I enjoyed this story I may be a biased towards it. I say this primarily because I tend to enjoy tales of bondage and discipline that have a romantic twist to them. This story certainly falls into that category. I will probably be reading and reviewing chapter two at some time in the near future. On the one hand, the ladies don't share that same sort affection for one another. On the other hand, Sarah and Anne do find themselves passionately aroused by each other's presence. Notwithstanding this fact, they also enjoy fighting each other when ever they can get a private moment together. COMMENTARY: I enjoyed this story quite a bit. The author does a very nice job with the pacing. He does not rush the story, but at the same time he drops plenty of hints as to where the story is going. I wasn't as impressed with the characters, see the next paragraph for more details. The story is very well edited. I do have one complaint. I had a hard time differentiating between Sarah and Anne. Their only distinguishing characteristics are superficial ones, i.e., hair color, breast size, etc. Adding to the problem, in my opinion, the author chose to switch the point of view back and forth between Sarah and Anne without always beginning a new paragraph. In retrospect, I believe that I might not have gotten as confused as I did, if either (a) the story had been told exclusively from one point of view, or (b) the author had given each of the women distinct personalities. One other thing to note, towards the end the story does seem to get a bit silly. I loved the -- er -- weapons that the main characters/combatants use in the final scene. At the same time, I think that this story will probably appeal more to those who like stories of this genre, whatever that might be. It would not surprise me to learn that it would appeal more to men than women, but I could be wrong.
