Due to recent issues with plaigarism on the internet, I have
changed my rules concerning reposting my stories. As of
December 30th, 2010, reposting my stories on ANY venue for
ANY reason whatsoever will now require formal permission
ahead of time, either in writing or in email, from me BEFORE
you are allowed to repost. There will be NO exceptions to
this rule. If you want to repost, you MUST ask permission or
I will be forced to contact your ISP or your webhost with a
copyright infringement notification.
In 99.999% of the cases, I will grant permission.
I just insist on knowing ahead of time when and where my
stories will appear.
If you have already reposted my works under the old guidelines,
I will not be asking you to pull it down (unless you violate
the rules below). But I do ask that you give me the courtesy
of emailing me immediately and telling me you reposted my works
and where.
If I do grant permission to repost, you must follow these
rules or I will insist you take it down:
-
Keep my copyright notice intact
I want credit for the writing. Do not claim it as your
own, and do not simply strip off the copyright. In
many parts of the world, it is illegal to fail to
recognize the copyright.
-
Do NOT charge for viewing the story
I forbid anyone from charging money for my works.
I own the copyright, so I alone decide whether to make
money off it. Don't be a leech.
-
Do NOT change the formatting of the text even a tiny bit
Sorry if this sounds anal, but I use italics and all
caps in various places for a reason. If you cannot
replicate that when you repost, don't repost.
If these new rules piss you off, tought shit. Blame the
leeches that insist on trying to profit off someone else's
work. I wanted to be more open, but they're making it hard
for me to do so. The rules really are simple: be courteous,
and I'll work with you. Be an asshole, and expect me to come
down on you hard.
Please note that these rules do not apply for posting short
snippets of my stories for the purposes of review, discussion,
or literary criticism. Those uses fall under Fair Use, which
I greatly respect.
